MEET OUR GUIDES:

ACTIVE NEW ZEALAND adventure travel guide
Gemma van Beek
"Gemma is wise and worldly beyond her age. She is adept to reading people well and is extremely generous and nurturing. She can also read people's physical limits and ensured that we were challenged but not in danger during hikes. Her pumpkin and kumara pie for "American Thanksgiving" was one of the most thoughtful gifts of her time, talent and food resources!"

"We had the trip of our lives and came back in better shape than when we started. Never in our lives have we ever felt so relaxed and carefree. "

I love sports and the outdoors and am currently working towards a Bachelor of Environmental Management. I recently spent a year traveling throughout Europe, which just made me homesick for our family farm!
What our clients have said:

"Gemma! A very special girl! She might not be in the 'limelight' but she certainly stands on her own as an excellent guide! I loved her! Her cooking was fantastic, and she relates well with everyone! I really enjoyed her company! This was my first guided trip and my expectations were low. You greatly exceeded them! It was all due to the excellent guides we had. It could have been a very different experience without Barry and Gemma. I think we got the best!! Their enthusiasm for the adventures, their love of the country and their special service made the trip 'special' for each and every one of us."

"Gemma was a lot of fun. The food was fantastic. Way to go Gemma! She's a fantastic cook and spoiled us completely. She's an extremely hard worker. Had a great time with her. (Lead guide) Barry and Gemma were amazing. They took very good care of us and were absolutely hilarious. "

"Gemma is a brilliant cook, the best meals we had were the ones cooked by her. "

"Gemma was extremely knowledgeable on all of the places that we visited as well as the animals and plants that we were spotting. She put a lot of effort into our meals, like making pumpkin pie over thanksgiving and always having soy milk available for me. Her enthusiasm for the activities was great. She also gave us some good laughs."
