Gentler Activities
Although New Zealand is best known for it more strenuous outdoors pursuits, adrenaline activities and adventure vacations, we can also set you up for other more gentle and relaxing activities on you days off if you’d like. Options such as horse trekking, boat cruises, swimming with the dolphins, wildlife boat tours, or whale watching are available.
New Zealand Farm Tours
More uniquely New Zealand activities are also available, such as high country farm tours, Maori cultural performances and even the chance to see the national emblem of New Zealand - our rare and shy native kiwi bird. The Queenstown gardens are also very popular whether just for a quiet stroll or a game of frisbee golf!
Of course if you want to find out more information on any New Zealand activities please feel free to
Wine tasting
New Zealand has become well known over the past 10 years as a producer of world-class wines, most noted for its distinctive and classy Sauvignon Blanc’s although other varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling are also among our best.
With wine growing regions spanning the latitudes of 36 to 45 degrees and covering a length of 1000 miles (1,600km) along the country, grapes are grown in a vast range of climates and soil types, producing a diverse array of styles. The northern hemisphere equivalent would run from Bordeaux (between the latitudes of 44 and 46 degrees) down to southern Spain.
As wine growing now covers most regions of New Zealand it provides you with ample opportunities for wine tasting in both the North and South islands of New Zealand. Key regions include Gisborne, Hawks Bay, Wairarapa, Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago.
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
We also offer wine tasting as part of our rimu tour visiting the Forrest Estate Winery, in the world famous Marlborough region made popular by its Sauvignon Blanc. At the winery you will get a chance to sample (and buy!) some of the fantastic wines while enjoying a picnic lunch.
